JAT: GLOBAL SOLUTIONS

For Victims that Fear Criminal Revenge

Thousands of crimes go unreported because victims fear retaliation from the perpetrators. When victim report a crime to law enforcement they are left with the fear of the aftermath of the crime. They are concerned that the criminal will be released and they will not receive a notification to be able to safety plan. It is very common for victims to fear to call 911 to report crimes because the perpetrator may prevent them from making that phone call. However, technology has made it easier and safer for victims to report crime and for them to feel safe 24 hours a day with their cell phone. The innovative Victim Initiated  Notification (JAT) phone app makes it easy and quick to report when a victim is in fear of danger.

There are several notifications systems that are used by the criminal justice system to notify victims of the release of criminals however not all victims enroll in this notifications and the notification only advises the victim of the release from custody. The victim is left feeling unsafe and unprotected if the perpetrator goes back to retaliate against them. The innovative Victim Initiated Notification (JAT) phone app was created for victims that have filed a protective order, victims of domestic violence that fear to report the abuse, victims of sexual abuse that are in danger, human trafficking victims that want to be rescued, college students impacted by campus sexual assault, victims of violent crime and mass murders, witnesses of crime, confidential police informants, attorney’s, victim advocates, prosecutors and even judges that need to report crime in a safe  and confidential way.

ABOUT OUR JAT

First-JAT is for people that have filed restraining orders, witnesses of a crime, confidential police informants, attorneys, prosecutors, and even judges. While laws vary by state, victims of certain types of crimes will be notified when the perpetrator is released. Victims can also request notifications, but errors do happen and victims aren’t contacted.

With JAT, the local police department receives the mother app portion of the app. Witnesses or victims who are afraid of criminal retaliation go to the police investigator who will give the individual a card with a case number and a private link to download the app.

The victim inputs their information and pertinent details into the phone app. If a confrontation or other activity takes place, individuals don’t have to take time to dial 911. The full power and functionality of The JAT app is activated with a single tap to report criminals.

When activated, the app immediately notifies the case investigator and provides a direct line to the police. It automatically displays the victim’s profile on the 911 operator’s screen, the perpetrator information, and the connection between the individuals so police are able to instantly understand why the victim is being threatened.

The app records audio and video of any interaction with the criminal if a confrontation occurs. It’s equally applicable for reporting if a criminal begins lurking around an individual’s home, school or work, follows or calls them, or otherwise tries to interact. It’s critical that witnesses and victims document these types of harassing behaviors.

The JAT Notification app provides witnesses and crime victims with a fast and efficient way to notify authorities if they’re threatened, harassed or confronted by a perpetrator they’ve helped to put behind bars.
